How to Perform Partial (Delta) CSV Imports

Save processing time by running partial (delta) imports in TB.One.

TIP:
Partial imports make targeted modifications to your products and articles without updating your entire catalog. Excluded fields and unlisted articles remain unchanged.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Set Your Import Goal

Define your updates before creating your CSV file:

a)Add new products/articles: Define which products and articles to create.

EXAMPLE:
You want to import your new summer collection. Your file only needs to contain the new products and articles/variants. You do not need to include the old products and articles that already exist in TB.One.

b)Update existing products/articles: Define which data fields to add or update.

EXAMPLE:
You want to add or update information on 5 specific products that already exist in TB.One. Create an import file that contains only these 5 specific products and only the specific information you want to add or update.

Step 2: Configure Import Settings

Before uploading a partial file, navigate to "Admin > Import > Settings" and check the settings to protect existing data before uploading:

Article activation: Disable all articles before import

If this box is selected and your file includes the "a_active" column, articles that are not part of your file are deactivated automatically.

Delete content that is no longer delivered

If one of these boxes is selected, uploading a new file completely replaces all the respective properties (media, bullet points, components, etc.) with whatever is in the file. If your file only contains new information, all your old information will be permanently deleted.

EXAMPLE:

You want to add a new component:

a)If the "Components" checkbox is active, you must add all preexisting components ("p_comp" columns) in your file. Otherwise, the old components will be deleted.

b)If the checkbox is not active, only add the new component in the file. Existing components are safe.

Step 3: Name Your File

a)Product-level update: name your file "PRODUCT_[timestamp].csv."

b)Article-level update: name your file "ARTICLE_[timestamp].csv".

c)Add articles, or update run an update on article AND product level: name your file "PANDA_[timestamp].csv".

Step 4: Choose the File Contents (Rows/Columns)

Only include the specific rows (products/articles) and columns (data fields) you need to modify. If you have configured the import settings according to the recommendations in Step 2, omitted rows and columns remain unchanged in TB.One.

TIP:
Keep files small. Apart from columns for the data fields you want to adjust, only one column is required: the unique identifier ("p_nr" for products, "a_nr" or "a_ean" for articles).

Exception: To add new articles, you must include all three unique identifiers ("p_nr", "a_nr", and "a_ean").

•Rows: Include all new products and articles you want to add as well as products and articles you want to update.

•Columns: Include the following:

1.Your primary identifier:

▪To update articles only: article number ("a_nr") or EAN ("a_ean")

▪To update products only: product number ("p_nr").

▪To add new articles: product number ("p_nr"), article number ("a_nr") and EAN ("a_ean")

2.All fields you want to add or update.

ATTENTION:
If you only want to update information for existing articles, do not include the "p_nr" column. This way, it is impossible to accidentally move an existing article to the wrong product.

Step 5: Import the File

1.Go to "Data exchange > Directories > Input"

2.Choose the file and click "Start upload"

3.Your file will be processed after a few minutes with the next regular import.

4.Check whether the file has been imported successfully (see "Import Errors and the Archive").
