Marketplaces > Marketplaces T-Z > Zalando > Zalando Brand Readiness : Manual data maintenance for Zalando > Define Basic Data

Define Basic Data

Start by creating basic data in the TB.One menu "Basic data", e.g. the required brands. This information is needed later when you create the products.

Create Brands

Navigate to "Basic data > Properties > Brands".

In the left sidebar on the tab "Pages", click on the page action "Create new brand".

The editing section "Create new brand" will open to the right.

Enter the brand information. If applicable, upload a brand logo.

Click on the button "Save".

Create Components

Components are the product properties visible in the Zalando online shop. Create them in the menu "Basic data > Properties > Components".

ATTENTION:
For Zalando, the following component is mandatory:

Material composition (Materialzusammensetzung).

The detailed indication of the material composition depends on each category.

Additional components are also category-specific. For more information, check the details in the Zalando-Mapping-Guide.

Create "colour" and "size" as variant-forming components. They serve as variant dimensions at the creation of individual articles.

TIP:
The more information you provide about your products, the more details Zalando can display in the shop.

Create Attributes

Attributes are required for the technical creation of products. Define them in the menu "Basic data > Properties > Attributes".

ATTENTION:
At Zalando, the following attributes are mandatory:

Season (Saison): e.g. summer 2022, winter 2022, NOS ("never out of stock")

Age group (Altersgruppe): e.g. adult (Erwachsene), teenager (Jugendliche), children (Kinder), baby (Babys)

Gender (Geschlecht): e.g. female (Frauen), male (Männer), unisex

Size grid (Größenraster): summary of the size range, e.g. "Women, Clothing 34-42" ("Damen, Bekleidung 34-42")

How to create an attribute:

Navigate to the left sidebar, choose the tab "Pages", and click on the page action “Create new attribute”.

The editing window "Edit attribute" will open to the right.

Enter the required information for the new attribute.

Don't forget to save your entries.

How to assign an attribute values

Once you have created the new attribute, the tab "Attribute values" is available.

Switch to the tab "Attribute values" and enter the values for the new attribute.

Save this information.

Create Clusters

Clusters are used to assign a category to your products.

To create a new cluster, do the following:

Navigate to the menu “Basis data > Classification > Cluster”.

In the left side bar, click on the page action "New assignment".

The editing window "Create new assignment" will pop up, enabling you to create the new cluster.

The free text field "Import key" is dedicated to the cluster's designation. Enter a name that is as precise as possible by reflecting the product categorisation down to the lowest level, such as "Women | Shoes | Sneaker | Low".

Save your new cluster via the button "Create cluster".

Then you will find the newly created cluster in the cluster list.

TIP:
A green checkmark left to the cluster name indicates that the cluster is already assigned to an active product - in contrast to the black slash showing that the cluster is currently not used.
