How to Delete a Variant Dimension
This guide shows how to delete variant dimensions in TB.One. Learn how to efficiently remove variant dimensions from a single product, multiple products, or through imports.
Manual Deletion for a Single Product
1.Open the product you want to edit in TB.One.
2.Go to the "Article list" tab.
3.Find the “Variant Dimensions” section.
4.Click 
next to the variant dimension you want to delete.
5.Save your changes by clicking “Save Dimension”.
Manual Deletion for Multiple Products
1.Go to "Articles > Article list".
2.Filter your articles to find the ones you want to update.
3.Look at the left sidebar. Under "Page actions", click "Bulk editing".
4.Read the warning in the pop-up window, then click "Next"
5.Open the "Categorisation" section.
6.Select "Add/update/delete product component (property)" (variant dimensions are based on components).
7.In the leftmost drop-down menu, select the variant dimension you want to remove (for example, "Size").
8.Leave the free text field in the middle empty.
9.In the rightmost drop-down menu, select "delete".
10.Click "apply changes". The system will remove the variant dimension from all filtered articles. This may take some time depending on the number of articles.
Deletion through Import
TIP: Unlike other product data, you do not need a special import setting to delete variant dimensions. The system handles this automatically. If you leave a variant dimension out of your import file, TB.One will delete it from the included products by default. |
Prepare and import your file
1.Create an import file. Include only the variant dimensions you want to keep.
2.You can limit your file to specific products, but ensure that all variant dimensions you want to keep for those products are listed.
3.Validate your file.
4.Import your file.
5.The system will safely delete the missing dimensions and keep the ones you included.
Q&A
Can I delete a variant dimension from only some products?
Yes. You can do this manually on a single product page, or use filters in the article list during bulk editing. If you use imports, include only the products you want to change in your file.
Will this remove the variant dimension from export to the marketplaces?
Yes. Deleting a dimension removes it from the export to the marketplaces. Before you delete anything, ensure your connected channels do not require this data for active listings.
Is there a way to recover a deleted component?
No, data deletion is permanent. To fix a mistake, you will need to add the variant dimension and its values back to the product manually or through import.
How can I control which variant dimensions are exported to a specific channel?
In the component settings at "Basic data > Properties > Components", activate the option "Don't export" for the channel in question.
