Defining Articles/Variants

Each product requires at least one article, even if it does not have any variants. For products without variants, it is sufficient to create one article. It is always necessary to specify an article number. For simple articles (without variants) the product and article number may be identical.

For products with variants, the variant dimensions have to be defined first (for fashion, these will usually be size and color). Before creating variants, consider which of your products' features are suitable and check, whether the booked channels restrict variant creation in any way.

ATTENTION:
Some examples for ways in which channels may restrict the creation of variants:

By type of variant (such as color, size and length)

Certain categories that do not support variants

Maximum number of variant dimensions

When you create articles, you need to assign them article numbers that are unique across all articles in your account. TB.One also allows you to provide an alternative second article number, the manufacturer's article number, and EAN codes.

ATTENTION:
Some channels restrict the length of the article number or the types of characters that may be used.

Providing EANs is mandatory for most channels. Some channels even require the manufacturer's article number. Therefore, you should always provide this information if it is available to you. Please note, that EAN numbers need to be unique across you account. Some channels check the validity of your EAN numbers (channels may validate the check digits or even the code's registration).
