What is the "Short Description"

The “short description” serves as a repository for search terms.

It stores relevant keywords associated with an article to enhance searchability. By adding meaningful words or phrases, you can significantly improve the discoverability of your articles. The short description is not displayed on the product page and remains invisible to customers. Instead, it is stored in the system background and is specifically indexed for search functionality.

How is the “Short Description” exported by TB.One

The stored bullet points are exported as short description for Kaufland (please note: bullet points cannot be blocked for export). By default, the information from the Search terms field in TB.One is not used in the export to Kaufland.

How to configure the “Short Description” in the Export

This is how you can configure the content of the exported “Short Description”:

1. Create a product text profile

•If you have not already done so, create a new product text profile via “Basic data > Templates > Product text profiles”

•To do this, click on “Create new product text profile” under “Page Actions” on the left-hand side of the page

oEnter a meaningful name in the “Designation” field, e.g. “Kaufland Short description”, “Kaufland Keywords”, or “Search terms Kaufland”.

oConfigure your product text profile with the information you require.

oIf you have already entered information in the standard product field “Search terms”, this unfortunately cannot be used in the product text profile.
Instead, add a new product component to your products, e.g. “Kaufland search terms” (or just “search terms” in general, if you also want to use this component for other marketplaces later on) and maintain all the desired search terms in this component

2. Assign the product text profile in the channel settings

•Go to “Channels > Kaufland.de (marketplace) > Settings” in the “Product texts” tab

•Move to the “Configuration of short description” section.

•Activate the checkbox “Use configurable short description”

•Assign your previously created product text profile in the  “Default value” drop-down.

•Optional: Also use the “Assignment base” if you want to make a further distinction/differentiation within your products for the “short description”. Otherwise, all products will be exported with the identical configuration.

Congratulations! All your products will now be exported to Kaufland with your individually configured “short description”.
