Providing Compliant AI-Generated Media

This page summarizes how you can provide AI-generated media that complies with the EU AI Act.

TIP: If you do not use AI-generated media, the requirements below are not applicable to you.

What’s the EU AI Act?

The Art. 50 of the EU AI Act requires marketplaces to inform their end customers when they are viewing or interacting with AI-generated content on their platform.

To comply with this law:

As a content provider, you’re responsible for marking AI-generated media you export to the channels.

Marketplaces are responsible for ensuring AI-generated content is correctly disclosed to end consumers on their platform.

ATTENTION: Tradebyte cannot provide legal advice on EU AI Act compliance!

Here’s what we do to support you with the EU AI Act:

Monitoring - We track new developments with the EU AI Act and work closely with our marketplace partners to monitor updates.

Technical updates - As new technical information becomes available, we'll share any relevant updates right away.

Which media is affected?

The law applies to all AI-generated content, such as images and videos.

We strongly encourage you to monitor updates from marketplaces directly to stay up to date on new requirements, and check out their accessibility guidelines to ensure your media is compliant.

How TB.One helps you stay compliant

Creating media types

If a marketplace requires specific media to label AI-generated content, you can create new media types in TB.One to export channel-specific images and videos.

Preservation of your metadata

TB.One automatically preserves common metadata (including EXIF, XMP) during imports and exports. If you correctly marked your media before the upload, TB.One transmits your metadata to the channels with the exports.

IMPORTANT: To get your metadata exported to marketplaces, you may need to re-import affected content (such as images).

How to prepare your media for export

As a content provider, you are responsible for following all requirements and guidelines marketplaces require to comply with the EU AI Act.

This may include:

Ensuring your media is correctly marked before the upload to TB.One

Adapting your media to the marketplace’s requirements (image size, watermarks, …)

TIP: Tradebyte preserves your metadata during exports

If your media is correctly marked with metadata, it is sent to marketplaces automatically.
