PRELIMINARY INFORMATION

New to TB.One? Our webinars help you find your way around the software.

Provide your product data in the language of the respective eBay channel..

Go to the menu "Basic data > Storage > Warehouse settings" and check your settings for the channel (for more information, click here).

At eBay you can create links between your products. These links will be shown in the shop (for example as an upselling option). Click here to learn how to create and configure links between products.

You have to provide a cancellation policy in TB.One at "Channels > eBay.de > Settings > Returns setting" (you are responsible for the content, Tradebyte doesn't assume any responsibility for the legal validity).

It is possible to create the navigation for your eBay shop from your internal categories. If you want to do this, contact your Solution Delivery Manager.

Setting up the eBay Access:

Two different tokens need to be set up for the communication with eBay: Grant authorization for the PBSE token first.

Grant authorization for the PBSE token. You can find the corresponding menu at "Channels > [Your eBay channel] > Settings" on the tab "System settings" in the section "Basic settings". It is used for returns handling.

After the successful authorization of the PBSE token, request production access at "Channels > [Your eBay channel] > Settings" on the tab "System settings" in the section "Basic settings" to activate the interface.

eBay Business Policies:

The Business Policies for eBay replace the TB.One shipping, return and payment settings. You can retrieve settings regarding payment, return and shipping policies directly via eBay and reference them in TB.One with an ID. Find details here.

CHANNEL-SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS

B-01: Payments

Send the email address you use for PayPal to your Tradebyte Solution Delivery Manager. It will then be added to the channel settings

With eBay Managed Payments, the channel handles the entire payment process. To that end, indicate your bank details in your eBay account and make sure the name, address, and business information (if available) of the bank account match the information in your eBay account. You also need to grant authorization for the PBSE token (used for returns handling). You can find the corresponding menu at "Channels > eBay > Settings" in the section "Basic settings".

Find your payment methods at "Basic data > Payment > Payment methods".

Under "Channels > eBay.de > Settings", go to the tab "System settings" and find the section "Order import". This section shows whether or not you receive pending orders.

ATTENTION:
Never change the email address used for PayPal (at "Basic data > Payment > Payment service provider) without consulting your Solution Delivery Manager at Tradebyte beforehand. This address needs to be identical to the one in TB.One's channel settings.

If PayPal registers a payment, the order is automatically confirmed.

If you offer other payment methods (and do not have eBay Managed Payments active), you need to mark the corresponding orders as "paid" manually. This causes a message to be sent to eBay and the payment status to be changed there. The reason behind this is that the automatic cancellation logic would otherwise create unnecessary disputes.

TIP:
TB.One supports the automatic creation of a case, if a customer fails to pay for an order. Either activate the cancellation logic of TB.One (tab "Payment processing" in the channel settings) OR the eBay assistant, never both of them at the same time. Please contact your Tradebyte Solution Delivery Manager if you would like to use this feature and communicate your desired payment types.

D-01: Product designation

The length of the product designation is limited to 80 characters.

D-02: Special text

Optional; may incur a fee.

D-03: Description

The length of the product description is limited to 2000 characters.

D-04: Components

The following components are mandatory at eBay:

Schnittbreite (cut width)

Stil (style)

Größenkategorie (size category)

Hosengröße (pants size)

Schrittlänge (stride)

Produktart (product type)

Ausschnitt (neckline)

If necessary, provide one or multiple components for GPSR safety and hazard information

Condition description (describing the article condition for used articles, e.g. "1 year old", "in good condition", etc.)

Required components for the Common Charger Directive (CCD):

If you sell articles that include chargers and cables, the following components are required for eBay:

One component indicating whether the device includes a charger or not, and if it’s USB PD compatible.

If a charger is included, assign a component to specify its charging power range.

Power ranges must be entered as follows:

Specify the range from minimum to maximum charging capacity in decimals using “.” as a separator.

Maximum 13 characters in total.

Example: "150.1-250.2"

D-05: Attributes

Use the recommended components listed under "Product Properties - Attributes" in the article "Product Description".

Additionally:

Article condition ("New" or "Used").

E-01: Article numbers

Provide the following article numbers:

Article number

EAN

Manufacturer's article number

E-02: Shipping information

Recommended:

Pack sizes (height, length, width in cm)

Weight

Country of origin and Intrastat category

Number of packing pieces

E-03: Variant dimensions

There are categories that do not support variant articles (such as electronics). If you create products with variants in these categories, they are automatically split up during export. Each variant will be turned into an independent product in the eBay shop. In cases like this, you should use the title configurator to add the element "split variants" to the title. The title then will contain the otherwise unused variant values. This will make the variants distinguishable from each other in the shop.

Variant dimensions require value mapping under "Channels > [Your eBay channel] > Value mapping". Variants that are not mapped to variant-forming eBay properties will not be displayed as variants in the shop.

F-01: Media

Provide images in a commonly used format such as png or jpg.

Number: Limits depending on the category: in some categories, exceeding a certain number of images may cause additional fees

Size: 500 x 500 px (minimum size), 1,600 px recommened for long side of the image

Resolution: no DPI requirement

Review eBay's image guidelines.

G-01: Carrier

Use a carrier of your choice

You can define surcharges for your eBay shipping types at "Basic data > Prices > Surcharges/Discounts".

G-02: Delivery note

You can configure the eBay delivery notes at "Admin > System settings > Documents" and add custom text.

G-03: Invoice

You don't need to print invoices for eBay. The channel sends the invoices to the customers. Print invoices for your own records only.

G-04: Proposed return code

Dispatch advices you forward to the channel must include a proposed return code for the return shipment label.

To that end, do one of the following:

a)configure a number range in TB.One.

b)if you manage orders outside TB.One, configure your system so that it forwards the return code to TB.One (CSV/XML: "IDCODE_RETURN_PROPOSAL").

c)manually enter return codes during order processing.
Activate the required input field in the menu "Admin > System settings > Order processing" under "Manual input Return code proposal". The field ("Ret.-Code Prop.") will then be displayed for each order on the tab "Delivery & Cancellation".

G-05: Delivery documents in package

Delivery note

G-06: Refund deduction

Partial deductions of refunded amounts for articles that were returned in a bad condition is only possible via the eBay backend.

G-07: Return causes

eBay does not process return causes and states.

X-01: Size grid

eBay does not use size grids.

X-02: Base prices

Provide base prices (price per kg, price per liter, etc.) for all articles that legally require you to do so.

X-03: Categories

For a complete list of all categories, go to "Channels > eBay.de > Categories".

eBay offers a large number of categories.

Import the categories you need from the master list, by clicking on the page action "Inherit from master list" in the left navigation bar (tab "Pages").

Use the search field to find the categories you need.

Select their checkboxes and click  "Apply" to import the categories.

Repeat this process until you've added all the categories you need to TB.One's category list.

Channels change their categories from time to time. Any major changes will be announced in TB.One.  Click on "Compare with master list" in the left navigation bar to highlight outdated categories. Move all affected products to valid categories.

X-04: Value mapping

Map at the category level for eBay. The available channel values may differ from category to category.

When mapping colors for multicolored articles, keep in mind that you need to assign different values for each article if there are multiple multicolored articles in one product (e.g. if a product contains two different blue-green articles).

Assign the condition (new/used) to the eBay property "ConditionValue".

Assign the condition description (e.g. "undamaged") to the eBay property "ConditionDescription".

ATTENTION:
A maximum of 25 properties can be transmitted to eBay for an article. Mandatory fields take priority, followed by mapped values (components or attributes), followed by any other components assigned in TB.One.

This restriction does not affect templates.

X-05: Pending orders

eBay transmits pending orders.

X-06: Partial deliveries

Partial cancellations and partial deliveries on article level.

X-07: Commission group

eBay does not use commission groups.

X-08: Service logos

At eBay, you can use templates to customize the way your articles are displayed (you could, for example, export bullet points or components as part of the product description).

Create templates at "Basic data > Templates > Templates".

Assign a template to your channel at "Channels > eBay.de > Settings" on the tab "Product texts".

For more information about templates and a detailed guide on how to use them, click here.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

ENERGY EFFICIENCY INFORMATION

If you sell products for which you must provide energy efficiency information (for example Energy Efficiency Class Labels), follow the instructions on this page.

ANONYMIZATION OF CUSTOMER DATA

eBay sends a report when you have to anonymize customer data in TB.One and your third-party systems. This report will only contain the user names of the customers. Access it via ”Data exchange > Directories > GDPR Out" or download it via your SFTP interface. Its name contains the extension “[channel sign]_CDD” (e.g. “ebde_CDD”). The report will be automatically deleted from the directory after 30 days.

Check your reports regularly (e.g. once a day) and actively control whether data in TB.One and your third-party systems are affected.

ATTENTION:
You must fulfill requests for anonymization of personal data to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It is your responsibility to ensure that anonymization requests are implemented in TB.One and all your third-party systems!

Information on TB.One's anonymization features can be found on this website under "Data Privacy and GDPR".

GPSR REQUIREMENTS

To comply with the European Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), you must provide manufacturer data, safety and hazard information, and user guides/product safety data sheets.

Manufacturer Data

a)If you only need one set of manufacturer data:

1.Open the menu “Channels > [Your eBay channel] > Settings” and switch to the tab “GPSR Information”.

2.Enter the address data in the fields provided under ‘Default value’ and save your entries.

b)If you need multiple sets of manufacturer data:

1.Open the menu “Channels > [Your eBay channel] > Settings” and switch to the tab “GPSR Information”.

2.Select an assignment base. This is the product property that TB.One uses to decide which manufacturer data to export to eBay (e.g. the brand name).

3.Enter an address in the ‘Default value’ fields. This default address is used for all values of the assignment base (in our example, brands) for which you do not provide a separate set of manufacturer information.

4.In the table below, provide separate sets of manufacturer information for the assignment base’s values (in our example, brands), where necessary.

5.Click “Save”.

ATTENTION:

Use the two-character ISO 3166-1 (ALPHA-2) code for the country.

For phone numbers, you may only use numbers and the ‘+’ symbol (no spaces, etc.).

All fields are optional from a technical perspective. This means TB.One does not block the export if information is missing.

Safety and Hazard Information

Create one or multiple components for this type of information and assign them to your products. Then submit values for the following channel properties via the value mapping:

"Hazardous Materials Pictograms" (health risk pictogram)

"Hazardous Materials Signal Words" ("Danger" or "Warning")

"Hazardous Materials Statements" (e.g. "can become flammable in use")

"Safety Labels Pictograms" (CE marking or suitability for children)

"Safety Labels Statements" (details of the safety notice, e.g. "Warning: Keep out of reach of children")

User Guides/Product Safety Data Sheets (PDF)

Create a new media type for PDFs ("Basic data > Properties > Media types").

Select the master media type "MANUAL".

Ensure that there is no export block for eBay (field "Don’t export to").

Select the correct export key for eBay. It indicates the language and the document type (e.g. "GERMAN_SAFETY_DATA_SHEET").

You can only use one export key per media type. If you use multiple types of documents, you need multiple media types.

PDFs must be active for all of a product’s articles. You cannot assign PDFs to individual articles.

ATTENTION:
The sale of products containing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is prohibited in France since the 1st of January of 2026. PFAS is commonly used in waterproof or stain-resistant finishes and cosmetics.

Please audit your articles on French platforms to ensure they are compliant.
